Dear Members, Partners, and Stakeholders,

It is with great humility and a deep sense of responsibility that I write to you as the newly appointed Chairman of the Institute of Business Advisors Southern Africa (IBASA), following the resignation of Professor Shine-On Hadebe from the Board. We extend our sincere appreciation to Professor Hadebe for his leadership and dedicated service, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavours.

As we prepare for the forthcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM), the Board is currently finalising the date and related arrangements. In the meantime, I would like to share a few important updates from the work being done behind the scenes.

Over the past few months, the Board has been focused on shaping the future direction of the Institute through the development of the IBASA Five-Year Strategic Plan. This strategic framework, which will be introduced to members soon, outlines a bold and forward-looking vision to strengthen member value, elevate professional standards, deepen stakeholder engagement, and position business advisors as key contributors to inclusive economic growth and development.

In addition to this, various Board Committees have also been actively working on key projects aligned with the strategic objectives of IBASA. These initiatives, covering areas such as professional development, governance, stakeholder relations, and member support, will be communicated in due course as part of our continued commitment to transparency and member engagement.

I look forward to actively engaging with members in the lead-up to the AGM and beyond. Your insights, feedback, and participation will be vital as we collectively take IBASA into a new and exciting chapter.

Warm regards,
Tash Makamure
Chairman of the Board
Institute of Business Advisors Southern Africa (IBASA)
